Who We Are

The Family Advocates Canada (TFA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping families thrive and relationships flourish. We began in 2022 as TheMarriageAdvocates Canada, born from the heartfelt mission of a couple passionate about strengthening marriages. What started as sharing encouragement online quickly grew into a broader community movement. In 2025, in response to the evolving needs of the families we serve and ongoing requests from our community, we rebranded as The Family Advocates Canada, a name that reflects our holistic commitment to supporting the entire family unit, not just couples. We empower immigrant families with practical tools for building strong, resilient relationships through skills training, mentorship, coaching, and meaningful community engagement. Our programs help elevate relationships from good to great, prevent family breakdown and domestic violence, and promote emotional wellness and growth. As families grow stronger, communities become healthier, and together, we create a lasting legacy of love, healing, and transformation.

Our mandate is to serve the immigrant community by providing healthy relationship skills training, mentorship, coaching, and engagement with the community, enabling individual families to foster healthy relationships that will flow naturally into the health of our community. Our programs serve as preventive strategies for family disruption and domestic violence, with the inevitable benefits of improved mental health.

Supporting Healthier Families

At The Family Advocates Canada, we use the arts to inspire social change by shedding light on cultural nuances that, if not properly addressed, can lead to family disruption and domestic violence. By fostering new perspectives, we help immigrant families build lives that align with Canadian values. Additionally, we use the arts to educate the broader community about the cultural influences shaping immigrant family dynamics, raising awareness for cultural sensitivity,

As Ted Cunningham wisely said, “Every marriage is a duet in need of great backup singers.” At The Family Advocates Canada, we strive to be those great backup singers, providing the support and guidance needed for every marriage to flourish.

Join us in supporting healthier individuals, happier families and a stronger community.
